Tim Bainey Jr. and the
Aaron’s Dream Team Get Crashed
Hard While Running 7th in First Championship Event
There’s no doubt Tim Bainey Jr. and #00 Aaron’s Dream Team were there to
contend for the win, along with the
coveted 2008
USAR Hooter’s ProCup Series Championship Saturday Night in Mansfield,
OH.
Tim Jr. would qualify the Aaron’s Dream Machine 15th for the
stout 36 car field. And after making both of his pit stops for the 250 lap
event – he had worked his way up into the 7th position on lap
107.

He radioed the crew to tell them that his car was “awesome”,
he was just riding in line, and even mentioned that he “wasn’t sure about
the #66 car, but besides that – we have them covered.” And his lap times,
along with his ability to run high or low on the track, seemed to back that
statement up.
But it would all come to a hard and scary ending on lap 108 while Tim Jr.
ran nose-to-tail inside the lead pack. As they entered turn 3 just after a
restart he was hit hard from behind by the #84 car which sent him spinning
up the track and slamming hard into the outside wall.

As the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine slide back down across the track flames
ignited from under the car and suddenly it burst into a ball of fire. Tim
Jr. climbed out of the car while it was still rolling down the track, and
the fire was put out by his own team as the car ironically came to a stop
against the wall right in front of his pit stall.
“It was a tough way to go out,” said Tim Jr. after a climbing from his tore
up and burnt up Aaron’s Dream Machine Saturday Night.
“I’m so proud of my Aaron’s Dream
Team for where we are at this season. That was probably the best car we’ve
ever had, and I knew that we were going
to have a shot at the win tonight.”
“I’m not sure who the #84 is, but that was a really bad deal. I really try
to show respect for these guys that we are racing, and 95% of them show it
back. I’m always careful about things, and I was taking my time making clean
passes all night.”
“We just had a restart so that bunched everyone up, but man - he didn’t just
bump us, he hit us a ton getting into that corner and there was nothing I
could do to keep it from hitting the wall. It’s just too bad, but I’m
thankful that I’m ok.”
“It’s going to hurt that we just destroyed our best
car, but we will work through it. As bad as it was – it’s great to know just
how awesome my Aaron’s Dream Team is right now.”
