Tim
Bainey Jr. Looking for 1-Tenth of a Second Out of the
#00
Aaron’s Dream Machine this Weekend at Salem

Tim
Bainey Jr. and the Aaron’s #00 Racing Team are all
smiles this weekend as they head to the High Banks of
Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana for this weekend’s USAR
ProCup “Lucas Oil 200”.
“Salem
and Winchester have always been two of my favorite
tracks,” said Tim Jr. “I think the driver can make a big
difference at places where speed really comes into play
like it does at Salem. These are the kind of places that
I’d like to run every week.”
Whatever the reason, Tim Jr. has always excelled on the
High-Speed / High Banked ovals throughout his career. He
has qualified in the Top-10 – 6 times in 7 attempts, has
career finishes of 5th, 6th, 7th,
and 10th in those visits – and we can’t
forget the night he was leading at Winchester with just
24 laps to go when his engine blew.
“We’ve
had some great runs at these tracks, and even though we
haven’t had the best finishes this season - our team is
really running strong right now. This could be the
weekend we finally break into the win column with the
Aaron’s Dream Machine and I’m really looking forward to
it” said Tim Jr.
As far
as the “1-Tenth” of a second goes, Tim Jr. has qualified
6th and 9th in his last two
attempts at Salem. We asked Crew Chief Dan Bainey about
it and this is what he had to say…
“In
each of the last 2 years we’ve missed the pole by just
one tenth of a second. I know Timmy really likes these
kind of tracks, and we are going to see if we can’t get
that little extra this year. It will only take another
tenth of a second for us to get our Aaron’s Dream
Machine its first BF Goodrich Tires Pole Award.”
